BOBBY MCKEY’S FAQ
1. Do you have an age restriction for entry?
Yes, we are 21 and over only, no exceptions, during our normal business hours. However, during our Kids’ Day Events (please see calendar), from 2pm to 5pm only, our show will be All Ages and G-rated.
2. When are you open?
We are open for business Tuesdays from 5 to 11pm. Wednesday to Thursday from 7pm to 2am. Fridays and Saturdays our hours are 5pm to 2am. The show begins at 8pm. Our office hours are Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm.
3. Is there a cover charge?
On Wednesdays and Thursdays entry is free. On Fridays, the cover charge is $5 per person and on Saturdays $7 per person for standing room only. No cover charge for bar access only during happy hour from 5pm to 6:30pm Fridays and Saturdays.
4. How soon can I make a reservation if I want priority seating?
We recommend you call us at least 3 weeks in advance of the date you would like to visit us. Our Saturdays are very popular and tend to sell out quickly. If we cannot fit you in on a Saturday, ask us about availability on Fridays which has the same piano player lineup as Saturdays.
5. Do you charge for reservations?
Yes. The cost is $15 per person for priority seating on Fridays which includes the $5 cover charge. On Saturdays only, VIP seating in front of the stage is $22 per person and $17 per person at the other table and bar seating, which includes the $7 cover charge. Tables up front hold 12 seats each. There is no charge for reservations on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
6. How do I make a reservation?
You can make a reservation request online by filling out the online form. We will contact you to complete the reservation process so please provide the best phone number to reach you. Please note that this is a request only and you must provide a credit card number over the phone to a Bobby McKey’s reservation manager to confirm your seats.
You can also reach us by phone at 301-567-1488 Monday to Friday between 10am and 5pm to make reservations.
7. I know exactly where I want to sit, can you make sure my guests and I have that spot?
Our seating arrangements depend on your group size and therefore we cannot guarantee your group a specific section in the bar. The seating chart is finalized on the day of your event, so unless you’ve been specifically told you’re in the rail seats by the main bar or in the mezzanine, you won’t know where your seats are until you arrive.
8. Do you charge my credit card when I make the reservation?
No. Payments for your reservation will be completed when you arrive for your night out by swiping the credit card you previously provided to hold your seats. You can also choose to pay in cash at the door but please note, we allow only one transaction for your entire reservation.
9. If I don’t make a reservation or if you’re sold out of seats, can I still come to Bobby McKey’s?
You don’t have to make a reservation to enjoy our show but please note that there’s no guarantee seats will be available.
10. Will you charge my card if I cancel my reservation?
The last day to cancel a reservation or make reductions to a group size without penalties is the Tuesday before your event by 5pm. You must speak with a Bobby McKey’s reservation manager. Voicemails or emails will not be accepted as methods of cancellation.
If your cancellation or reduction in group size is received after that Tuesday, we will charge $10 for each guest on your reservation and this amount is non-refundable. However, it can be used as a credit towards a future reservation only, as long as you return within 90 days of the original date and call us no later than 5pm the day of your event. If your group is a no-show, in whole or in part, and we do not receive notice from you by the times listed above, the credit does not apply.
11. I’ve been placed on a waitlist for a sold-out night, when will I know if I have seats?
We make every effort to contact our waitlisted clients if any seats open up. Please note that if you do not receive a phone call by 5pm on the day you’re requesting reservations, that nothing has become available.
12. When should I arrive if I have a reservation?
We take seating requests between 7 and 8:30 pm, however, we recommend you arrive earlier than 8 pm to avoid standing in line.
13. Do I lose my seats if I don’t arrive at the time I specified?
If your party has not checked in by 8:30pm at the latest, we reserve the right to give your seats to walk-in guests.
14. What if I’m in line at 8:30pm, will I lose my seats?
We will take a headcount of every one in line at 8:30pm and give you a stamp
15. I have a very large group and don’t want to foot the drinks and food tab alone. Can we split the bill?
Yes, you can split the tab but please alert your server before ordering.
16. Is there a food and drink minimum? Automatic gratuity?
No, there is no food and drink minimum except for groups of 50 or more.
If you walk out on your tab an 18% gratuity is added to your bill. 18% gratuity is also automatically charged to tabs over $300.
17. Do you have a dress code?
Bobby McKey’s is a casual atmosphere so you can wear jeans or shorts when it’s nice outside. We cannot, however, allow gang attire, including visible gang tattoos or any other symbols. You can wear a baseball cap but the visor must face forward. Shirt and shoes must be worn at all times. No oversized t-shirts or baggy sweatpants, jeans, or shorts.
18. Is there a minimum number of people required to make a reservation?
No, you can make reservations for as many people as you would like. Groups of 50 or more should contact our events manager (events@bobbymckeys.com) to see if there are any special deals they would qualify for.
19. We are staying at a hotel in the National Harbor, what discounts do we get?
On Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, your room key can get you 20% off your tab at Bobby McKey’s. Please present room key to your server prior to ordering. Limit one key per tab.
20. What other discounts are available?
We are proud to offer free cover charge to our service men and women in uniform every Friday. If you are in the military, police, or fire department, present your ID at the door to get in for free or get $5 off the reservation fee.
