Spencer Bates

Spencer Bates has performed live professionally for seven years, playing in piano bars for nearly six of them. He has played at Howl at the Moon, Mr. Smith's of Georgetown, and Elaine's at the Grove Park Inn, among others. Completely self-taught, Spencer has written, recorded, and released three solo albums, and was named the winner of Maryland's 2007 Takoma Park Folk Festival Emerging Artist Competition.
